The Transboundary Movement, Etc. of Living Modified Organisms Act was enacted and enforced on December 12, 2013.
Below are the enacted and revised details related to safety management of LMO for test and research.
- 1. Addition of details about reporting of change of installation and operation of LMO research facilities, reporting of closure of LMO research facilities, and regular and irregular inspection, with enhanced safety management of LMO research facilities (Act - Article 22, Enforcement Decree - Article 50)
- 2. Addition and revision of details about reporting of change of import, import inspection, inspection exemption, export notification, and reporting of transit, with regard to import and export safety management of LMO for test and research (Act - Article 22, Article 10, Article 20 and Article 21)
- 3. Addition and revision of details about research on environmental impact, etc. and risk prevention measure of LMO for test and research, with the enhanced role of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning for safety management of LMO for test and research (Act - Article 26-2 and Article 27, Enforcement Decree - Article 42)
