Persons, who intend to import LMO for test and research or to import LMO for test and research for entry into fairs and exhibitions, should make a report to the Ministry of Science and ICT(MSIT).

- Import Contract (including Import Agency Contract if applicable) or Order Document
※ If Import Contract does not exist in case of, for example, donations based on exchange between domestic and foreign researchers:
- Submit evidence document on import (with descriptions on systemic name, import country, quantity and amount)
- Submit exchanged email (with descriptions on systemic name, import country, quantity and amount) and the Korean translation - Transport Plan on LMO for Test and Research (for Fairs and Exhibitions) or Transport Contract with descriptions on transport route, means and carrier (1ea)
- Safety Management Plan on LMO for Test and Research (for Fairs and Exhibitions)
- Summary of LMO for Test and Research (for Fairs and Exhibitions)
- Use Plan on LMO for Test and Research or Entry Plan on LMO for Fairs and Exhibitions
Approval should be obtained if any of the following applies to LMO:
- LMO that is obtained using microorganisms that are not designated with a specific name of species based on taxonomy and not sure about whether they are pathogenic to humans
- LMO that is capable of generating protein toxicity officially designated by the Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for vertebrates
- LMO that contains deliberately introduced drug resistance genes with the exception of LMO that contains drug resistance genes officially designated by the Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare
- LMO that is obtained using pathogenic microorganisms officially designated by the Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare as requiring state management for public health
